If you are looking for exciting things to do in KZN, look no further.
Aside from the amazing mountain biking and running trails on Holla Trails which operate from Sugar Rush Park, we have a huge open grassed area plus a toddler zone and playground as well as a kids pump track.

Visitors to Sugar Rush Park can linger in the The Digs Kitchen which offers a breakfast and lunch menu, as well as a range of coffees, juices and teas. Ride, run and play to your hearts content and then be refreshed at our cafe or treat yourself to a delicious milkshake or ice cream at Milk Station.

Other exciting additions to Sugar Rush Park are laser tag, archery tag, putt putt, the rugby fields, reptile park, petting zoo, miniature train, tractor rides and trampoline park. These additions are great for releasing all that energy that kids have, and are perfect for living a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Kids Play Zone Playground
The kids play zone is an exciting playground with lots of future development in the pipeline. It is a fun, safe place for kids under the age of 6 to ride their scooters, jump on trampolines, play on the equipment and just go wild. The kids love it and have an absolute blast - it is an amazing play area for the kids to enjoy.
The kids play zone is the perfect place to have your kids birthday party as it boasts three party venues inside the toddler zone, and provides plenty of space for mess and running around, so that you as a parent are able to relax, hassle-free.

Moms can sit in the The Digs Kitchen and watch your kids play or grab a take-away and sit in the toddler zone under the shade for the younger kiddies that need a watchful eye.

Kids Mountain Bike Track
Mountain-biking at its best right here at Sugar Rush Park - this is what mountain biking is all about! This mountain bike track boasts a 1km network of trails that wind their way through the magnificent on-site gum tree forest, providing you with not only an energetic ride, but also a scenic one.

The kids will be enthralled as they ride through the seemingly never-ending winding trail, weaving through old buildings, through the trees, around or over obstacles and returning back to the start where they no doubt will want to do it all over again, and again. And, for a bit of variety, they can always hit our pump track too!

It is great for exercise, good for concentration and learning, which will help them to navigate a single track when they are ready to hit the bigger trails!

Ballito parkrun
Parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone and are safe and easy to take part in.
These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and people of every age and ability are encouraged to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience. Everyone is welcome. This is a great opportunity to run safely (and legally) in KZN's great sugar cane environment.

There are currently 54 Parkruns in South Africa. The inaugural Ballito Parkrun took place at Sugar Rush Park, Esenembi Road, Ballito on Saturday, 13 June 2015, with Bruce Fordyce, the national patron, present to launch the event.

The Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 8:00am and the Ballito community is invited to come along, participate, have fun and sharpen their fitness. Runners need to register online before their first run and bring a printed copy of their bar code. Entry is free.

Parkrun is staffed entirely by volunteers, so for the less energetic or injured, becoming a volunteer is a great way to get involved. The Digs Kitchen will be open for you to grab a coffee before or after your run, or to simply sit and support those that are running. Enjoy a Parkrun brekkie bun and coffee for R50 on Saturdays only!

The Sugar Rush Express & Tractor Rides
One of the many special attractions in Sugar Rush Park is our new Sugar Rush Express miniature train and our tractor rides.

Safe and specifically designed for the entertainment of our little ones, a fun filled journey of fun laughter & adventure.

Our friendly team is ready to book your adventure – and answer any queries you may have, or to find the best person for you to
talk to. Of course, during regular office hours we also welcome customers to come and see us at our office in Sugar Rush Park.

Milk Station – Dessertery
Milk Station is a dessertery serving up fresh shakes and soft serve ice creams!
Holla Trails
Holla Trails operates from Sugar Rush Park and all permits are available to purchase from their Trailhead at the park.  This an exciting and adventurous activity for all bikers, which will leave you exhilarated and energised.
Holla Trails consists of over 360 kms of marked and signed trails and is continually being improved and added to! There are trails for both novice and experienced mountain bikers alike. Riders are amazed at the variety of track and spectacular scenery that is available. There is plenty of track for the newer riders and allows for people who want to get into mountain biking the chance to get out without getting lost or risking trespassing.

The Jump Park
The trampoline park, which opened in January 2016 and has been a big hit with the kiddies,  is a 700sqm facility covered with wall-to-wall trampolines, built entirely for entertainment and recreational purposes.
The team are dedicated to providing a delightful experience of free jumping which comes second only to flying. They satisfy families and thrill seekers alike with our safe, padded obstacles and variety of different trampoline experiences catering to adults, teenagers, and children.

They also demonstrate that fitness can be weightless and fun can be smart. Free-runners and sports people understand that jumping is freedom.

Ndlondlo Reptile Park
We have a wide range of indigenous reptiles on display including the most dangerous and venomous! The Black Mamba, Cobras, Puff Adder's , as well as a few exotics: a huge anaconda, pythons, tarantulas and scorpions. The very brave can hold a tarantula or a snake. We are very education and conservation based, with shows daily to display the nature of cobras.
Putt Putt
Yeah! We have an incredible adventure putt putt right here in Ballito at our very own Sugar Rush Park! Sugar Rush Putt Putt is a full 18 hole course with paddling pools, water fountains, waterfalls, beaches, island greens, ramps and tunnels. It is a fun challenge for all ages and all recreational needs. Little ones love to paddle in the pools after their ball; parents have fun with the family; its a great date afternoon or evening; and it is a fantastic venue to host birthday parties and corporate events or team builders. You can even enjoy an evening fire-pit after a team challenge at putt putt for your corporate party with a braai on the beach. It is working great for school outings as a wonderful outdoor activity for all age groups of kids with other activities and areas to enjoy a day at the park.
The beach theme is so suited to our relaxed beach town and inviting to all ages, with it's kid related fun and adult relaxation by the rock pools. It is open 7 days a week during holidays and 6 days a week off season – closed on Mondays. Laser Rush
Laser Rush offers the ultimate adrenaline rush in a realistic open air environment.
Come and have fun with the whole family, declare war with your friends or just come and watch while others play!
The Guns: We use 98 custom Tippmann Laser Tag guns imported directly from Tippmann USA that is fitted with a state of the art computer box which reads all your scores right down to your accuracy.

The Arena: We play in an outside arena. filled with broken down buildings, rustic obstacles, trees and plenty of peepholes for sneaky snipers! It is out in the wild, so we do require shoes.

The Venue: We have a rooftop covering the seating area with a large picnic bench, extra seats and enough counter space for all your needs set right in the center of the arena to view the entire game!

The Game: There is a variety of games to choose from, either in teams or every man for himself. The guns can be set to the most exciting games ranging from ammo, lives, time to players.

Rushing Arrows – Archery Tag
At Rushing Arrows we play the exhilarating game of archery tag! We have a walk-in facility and also host parties, team building, school groups and more.
The Sugar Rats
The Sugar Rats is a fun and safe place for Kids to explore the exciting world of Mountain Biking.
The course is designed to improve children’s bike skills, increase their riding ability & distance plus encourage kids to understand their fitness & endurance levels and little bodies better. There are 3 levels starting with the newbies on a Thursday at 3:15 and this helps them gain confidence, learn their bikes and navigate the beginner trails. We basically prepare them for the 4:15 group who are capable of riding 5-8kms of manageable trails. We then have the 4pm group on a Weds which is our advanced group and these kids are capable of riding 10kms+ at a fairly good speed.

We do on-going assessments with them to encourage their growth and development. This is essentially a fun course and we encourage all kids to participate no matter what their riding strengths – it’s not about winning but working together to enjoy riding and time on the trails.

Unicorn Slime
The Story of UNICORN Slime...
What was initially intended to be a fun, afternoon hobby, quickly turned into a fully-fledged business for little Skyler. Skyler, a 9 year old pupil at Crawford Preparatory North Coast, brilliantly developed and turned a weekend hobby into a business called “Unicorn Slime by Skyler”. This creative young entrepreneur has already delivered her first orders of “Unicorn Slime by Skyler" to Swaziland and has turned the hobby that she is passionate about, into a business.

So how did it all start?
This enthusiastic entrepreneur loved sharing her Slime experiments with her friends and whilst doing so, would often be asked if she would make her slime for them. Soon, Skyler became very busy making Slime to order, and that’s when her ‘light bulb moment’ occurred. She then saw the opportunity to turn this into a business for her to earn extra money while doing what she loved and “Unicorn

Slime by Skyler” was born.
It has been quite an education for Skyler developing her product. It took her several experiments and many failures, for her to develop her perfect Slime that she would be happy and proud to sell to Slime lovers her age. She experimented with different textures, navigating through colours as well as creating the perfect recipe!

Skyler has had her finger on every aspect of developing her product, from coming up with her brand name, logo, what it would look and feel like and the packaging. She also took mums into consideration when deciding on texture and made sure that her magic goo is not too sticky so that kids can have hours of fun without getting into trouble with mum.

This is the heart story of a little girl who dares to DREAM BIG, despite her age and all the challenges she may face, she has enough heart to persevere. Her heart song is to make children experience the same joy she feels when she plays with Slime but above all, Skyler DARES YOU to DREAM BIG, create YOUR OWN STORY and ‘be a UNICORN in a field of horses’.
