Curro Mount Richmore is an independent school in Salt Rock (Ballito), that provides high-quality education for learners from Grade R to Grade 12. Our small class sizes and enhanced curriculum empower learners with 21st-century skills and knowledge to grow into self-confident individuals, and to reach their personal, educational, and eventual workplace goals. What do we offer?
At Curro Mount Richmore, we balance academic excellence with sports and cultural well-being, thereby ensuring that learners develop into well-rounded individuals. Our small class sizes and enriched curriculum provides our learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence as well as 21st-century skills to prepare them for the workplace of the future. To that end, our classrooms and facilities are fitted with state-of-the-art tools and, from Grade 4 onwards, learners use e-learning devices in the classrooms along with textbooks.
We are Robotics inclusive
With a concentration on e-learning and 21st-century skills, we offer a quality Robotics program.
Teaching takes place in Afrikaans or English from Group 4 (4 years old) and our dedicated teachers give learners personal attention in the classroom, which helps to ensure that they achieve to the best of their abilities. We have an academic support program for core subjects and occupational therapy, speech therapy, and a counsellor is also available. We offer isiZulu in Grade R – 3 in a conversational language and writing format and FAL from Grades 4 – 7 and Private Tutor from Grades 8 – 12.
Which activities do we offer?
We believe that participation in activities plays an important role in promoting health, team-awareness, discipline, and self-confidence in addition to physical and social well-being. Therefore, we offer a wide variety of sports and cultural activities, from mountain biking to Curro Create programs, aimed at helping learners discover their inherent talents and broaden their exposure beyond their current reference framework. These activities are generally included in the school fees.

How do we use technology in the classroom?
Our learners benefit from the best 21st-century learning tools by having access to specialized subjects such as Robotics. In Grade R, the Duplo Lego program introduces thinking patterns such as creative thinking and problem solving through fun, innovative play. These thinking patterns form the basis for an understanding of later Robotics studies.
Learners from the intermediate phase onwards benefit from 21st-century learning by using tablets (e-books) along with their textbooks. Using innovative technology allows teachers to provide a wealth of information at the touch of a button and better prepares learners for the workplace of the future. Our modern classrooms for subjects such as Information Technology, Computer Applications Technology, Technology, and Engineering Graphics and Design are fitted with state-of-the-art tools and equipment to ensure that learners learn skills that are current.

Our school is just off the N2 but surrounded by beautiful scenery and easily accessible via Salt Rock Road. We are conveniently close to many shops and restaurants and nearby attractions include the Ballito Junction Regional Mall as well as the Simbithi Country Club where our learners Golf programme is hosted. The stunning Salt Rock Beach, with the Salt Rock Tidal Pool and Granny’s Pool, is less than 5 minutes away for fun and educational excursions.
