At Alchemy, we celebrate craft booze.
We are inspired by tradition and moved by innovation. We proudly stock many craft drinks produced in South Africa, with a strong focus on gin, of course. You don’t need to be a 'gintellectual' to enjoy this complex spirit - you can try one of our house combos, gin-based cocktails, tasting boards, or check out the gin selection at the bar and speak to our team for suggestions and inspiration.

Our favourite mixes are inspired by gin’s rich history, it’s checkered past and enduring charm.

Rum has an origin in slavery, but it also has an origin in the world being connected and coming to where we are today. Gaining in popularity around the globe, we serve excellent versions of some historic rum cocktails.

In keeping with our local, craft approach, our beer on tap is from our friends at That Brewing Company in the heart of Durban, with rotating bottled choices from a number of local brewers. Sxollie Craft Ciders provide a range of flavours and something different.

Someone once said that coffee is what you drink until it’s time to have wine. We serve excellent examples of both. Windmeul Kelder offers a lovely range of great value wines, available in KZN here at Alchemy only. The superb Cellar Range makes up our house wine offering, all available by the carafe. Sourced from Alchemy Coffee Roasters in Cape Town, our coffee beans are single origin, roasted to perfection. We rotate the beans based on availability and quality.

The Alchemy bar is BlackStrap Craft Distillery’s brand home. We are inspired by tradition and moved by innovation. Our commitment, work ethic and dedication to excellence are old fashioned. But our cocktails are not.
